Gadgets and Gear:

  • Free classic audio books. If you’re one who likes to listen to your books rather than read them, you might want to check out Free Classic Audio Books, a website that gives out … get ready for it … free classic audio books. Among the titles available, you can download recordings of Jane Austen’s “Emma” and Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island”. (via Frugal Freebies)
  • Free puppy love. Garmin, via Audible.com has downloads of John Grogan’s “Marley and Me: Life and Love with the World’s Worst Dog” audiobook for free. iTunes has the mp3 for $16.95. (via DealNews)
  • Free short stories. Barnes & Noble offers downloads of nine MP3 audiobooks for free. You have your choices of titles from stories by Kurt Vonnegut, Louis L’Amour, Mark Twain, Alice Munro and more.

Odds and Ends:
